The AGM is held annually to elect a new Committee
Any eligible and paid up GFA member may attend and vote at the AGM - and can stand for Committee election! Newcomers are always welcome, to ensure that the GFA continues it's high standard of sport governance each year.
If you want to stand for a position on the GFA and help with the development of the sport in one or more areas please contact one of the Committee for the relevant Nomination Form.

African Champs 2015 Cairo
Our fencers arrived at Cairo Aiport for the African Champs, where our Epee Women Team earned a Silver Medal and Tammy Carfoot got the individual bronze.
SA Senior National Championships held in Cape Town
The SA Senior Championships took place in Cape Town and the gold medals were won by:

Mens Foil - Robert McGregor - Western Cape
Womens Epee - Juliana Barrett - Gauteng
Womens Foil - Giselle Vicatos - Western Cape
Womens Sabre -Keena Fourie - Gauteng
Some of our local Soweto Club fencers travelled to Gaborone to grab some gold at the first Botswana Fencing Tournament. The competition was run by our Competitions Officer JoAnn Saner as part of GFA Outreach and Development programme.
SA Junior Championships Bloemfontein
The SA Junior Championships took place in Bloemfontein.
The Junior Commonwealth Games took place in Cape Town in June.
FIE Womens Epee World CUP 2015 Johannesburg

SUPER WELL DONE to the Women’s Epee team for winning a SILVER MEDAL at the Commonwealth Fencing Championships that took place in Largs, Scotland from 10 – 15 November 2014.

The South African Fencing Mask
The FIE approved our mask design. This is now the official
design that can appear on the mask of SA fencers at international competitions from 1 July 2015. Using the design is not compulsory and fencers can still compete with a plain mask.
